Italy–Lithuania Space Sector Cooperation Deepens: NOVITERA Participates in High-Level “Vilnius Space Days 2025” Meeting
On May 6, during the Vilnius Space Days 2025 event, Italy’s Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Innovation Agency Lithuania. The agreement sets the stage for enhanced bilateral cooperation in the space sector, with a focus on Earth observation, small satellite technologies, and optical communications.
The MoU underscores Italy’s commitment to sharing its technological and industrial know-how with Lithuania across the entire space value chain — from satellite launches and infrastructure management to advanced data processing for use in agriculture, energy, and logistics.
Beyond the space domain, Minister Urso and Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas explored opportunities for closer collaboration in defense, energy, life sciences, and innovation. The dialogue emphasized the importance of European strategic autonomy — particularly in securing critical raw materials and boosting the global competitiveness of Europe’s high-tech and defense industries.
NOVITERA was represented at this high-level event by Lina Baibokienė, reaffirming the company’s commitment to contributing to strategic discussions shaping the future of Europe’s space and technology sectors.
