Precious metals remained fairly stable in the last week of May; many changed in value by just a few dollars. Precious metals are likely to remain a popular investment during the crisis, which is likely to further increase their value.
The price of gold has fallen by just a few dollars - it currently costs $ 1727.58 an ounce. More and more people begin to invest in the yellow metal, so Turkey has decided to increase taxes on those who buy foreign currency and gold (source: Ahvalnews.com). Sprott.com says that there are a number of reasons why investing in gold is worthwhile: security, limited quantities (gold is not printed as banknotes), a fairly affordable investment. Forexlive.com believes that the price of gold could rise as high as $ 2,000 an ounce, so it may already be worthwhile for investors to increase their reserves before the value reaches a record high.

The price of silver has not changed since last week - it currently costs only a cent less, $ 17.09 an ounce. Experts believe that white metal could become significantly more expensive during the crisis (sources: Juniorminingnetwork.com, Kitco.com). This metal is widely used, and basically anyone can invest in it (source: Thenational.ae). Resourceworld.com notes that demand for not only gold but also silver is growing, so it should come as no surprise that prices for both metals will certainly rise in the near future.

The price of palladium has also fallen slightly compared to last week - it currently costs $ 1992.49 an ounce. Meanwhile, the price of platinum continues to rise to $ 849 an ounce this week. However, the price of platinum has not yet reached record levels, so manufacturers who use platinum in both jewellery and other industries are taking advantage of this situation and increasing platinum stocks (source: Miningweekly.com). However, the stocks of this metal are not limitless, and its price can rise soon. Uk.investing.com says that the price of palladium will also recover and rise.
Sales of new cars do not grow. SAIC Motor, China's largest carmaker, expects car sales to grow at least in the local market in the second quarter of this year (source: Investing.com).

The price of copper rose several dollars to $ 5339.6 a tonne. The mines continue to open little by little, and some even had protests: for example, there was a protest at China's Moly's Congo mine because a compensation for miners was not received (source: Mining.com). This protest ended in a day as a compromise was found. The price of copper should remain in a constant position, as demand for it has not diminished and work is returning to its own track.
